CSR Programme Design and Delivery
Community investment programmes that are designed to be measured
CSR Programme Design explained
A CSR programme only survives its second budget cycle if it can show what changed. We help companies design community investment programmes that start from a specific problem, work through verified local organisations, and produce the evidence required for board papers, sustainability reports and regulator or investor disclosures.
We deliver this service across 8 countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, working from our office in Nairobi.
Who this is for
- Companies formalising CSR or sustainability commitments
- Businesses responding to customer, investor or tender requirements on social impact
- Employers building employee volunteering and giving programmes
- Groups with a foundation or trust arm that needs programme structure
Start from the problem, not the activity
A common weakness in CSR is that the programme is defined by what the company can easily give, such as books, uniforms or water tanks, rather than by the outcome that matters. We begin with the outcome: what should be different for the community in three years, and which measurable indicator proves it.
That approach also protects the company. Programmes built around outcomes can be reported honestly when results are partial, which is far safer than claiming activity counts as impact.
Choosing and managing delivery partners
Once the outcome is agreed, we shortlist organisations already working in the relevant sector and geography using directory records and direct verification, then agree roles: who delivers, who monitors, who reports and how frequently.
We help set simple reporting requirements that a partner organisation can actually meet, such as a one-page monthly update and a quarterly narrative against agreed indicators. Overcomplicated reporting is the most common reason community partnerships quietly stop delivering data.
Documenting and communicating results
Delivery is only half the work. We help prepare programme documentation suitable for annual reports, sustainability disclosures, tender submissions and internal communications, including case studies, photographs and quotes from participants.
Where the company wants public visibility, we also publish programme information through the directory, which gives the work a verifiable third-party record rather than a claim that exists only on the company's own website.

CSR Programme Design: common questions
What size of CSR budget do you work with?
We work with programmes at several scales, from focused single-district initiatives to multi-country portfolios. The design process is the same; only the number of partners and indicators changes.
Can you run the programme as well as design it?
We design the programme, select and introduce partners, and support monitoring and reporting. Day-to-day delivery remains with the implementing organisations on the ground.
How is success measured?
Against the outcome indicators agreed with you at the start, reported by the delivery partners. We help you present those results honestly, including where progress has been slower than planned.
