NGO Profile and Publication Services

A professionally written, designed and published profile of your organisation

NGO Profile Publication explained

A full directory profile does more than list your organisation: it tells your story to a reader who has never heard of you. New Dawn Media Services works with your team to write, design and publish a profile that explains what you do, where you work, who you work with and what changed as a result, then places it in front of the readers most likely to act on it.

We deliver this service across 8 countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, working from our office in Nairobi.

Who this is for

  • NGOs preparing for donor or partnership conversations
  • Organisations marking an anniversary, a milestone or a new strategy
  • Foundations documenting a portfolio of programmes
  • Businesses publishing a CSR or sustainability report to the sector

How the profile writing process works

We begin with a short briefing call or meeting to understand your mission, your main programmes, the areas you serve and the partnerships you want to attract. We then draft the copy, share it for correction and approval, and publish only once your team is satisfied it is accurate.

You provide whatever material you already have: an annual report, a proposal, programme photographs, a logo or beneficiary stories. Where material is missing we work from interviews, which is often how the most useful detail surfaces, particularly when the people doing the work are not the people who normally write about it.

Design, print and electronic publishing

Profiles are laid out to a consistent house style so the directory stays easy to read, while giving larger placements the visual room they need. Logos, photographs, contact blocks and partner logos are all placed within the agreed page size.

Every printed profile is also published in the searchable electronic edition, which means it is indexed, linkable and available to readers who no longer work with paper copies. Organisations frequently reference their published profile directly in funding proposals and partnership applications.

Making a profile work commercially

A profile is a sales document for your cause. The entries that generate the strongest response lead with a specific problem and a specific result, name the districts served, and end with an unmistakable call to action and contact route.

We advise every organisation we publish on those three elements, and we will tell you honestly when a larger placement is not worth the money at your current stage. The aim is that readers respond, not that the page looks busy.

NGO Profile Publication: common questions

Do you write the profile for us or do we supply the text?

Both options work. Many organisations send existing material that we edit into directory style, while others prefer us to interview the team and draft from scratch. You approve the final copy before publication either way.

Can we update our profile during the year?

Yes. The electronic edition can be updated when your contact details, programmes or leadership change. Send us the amendment and we will reflect it in the searchable version.

Does the profile include photographs?

Paid placements include space for photographs and your logo. If you do not have usable images, mention it when you enquire and we will discuss the options with you.
