Fundraising and Grant Readiness Support
Become the organisation a funder can say yes to
Fundraising Support explained
Many organisations are turned down not because their work is weak but because their proposal, budget or documentation does not match what the funder asked for. We help organisations prepare the material that funders actually assess, and we are direct about which opportunities are worth pursuing and which are not.
We deliver this service across 8 countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, working from our office in Nairobi.
Who this is for
- Organisations applying to institutional donors for the first time
- Groups repeatedly shortlisted but never funded
- NGOs needing a coherent case for support across programmes
- Boards seeking a realistic funding strategy instead of one-off grants
Readiness before writing
Before drafting anything we review the fundamentals: registration documents, governance structure, financial systems, safeguarding policy, monitoring framework and previous results. Institutional donors assess all of these, and a strong narrative cannot compensate for missing documentation.
Where gaps exist we say so plainly and help you close them, whether that means adopting a safeguarding policy, introducing basic internal controls, or documenting results from work you have already completed but never written up.
The case for support and proposal writing
We help build one clear case for support that explains the problem, your track record, your approach and the change you expect, and then adapt it for each funder against their own format and language. Proposals assembled from a strong base are far more convincing than ones written from scratch each time.
Budgets are prepared alongside the narrative so that costs, activities and indicators line up, which is the single most common reason proposals are rejected on technical grounds.
Donor research and realistic targeting
We help identify donors whose geographic focus, sector priorities and grant size actually match your organisation, including foundations, corporate funds, trust funds and bilateral programmes. Chasing every open call wastes the limited time a small team has.
The directory itself is a useful tool here: understanding which organisations work where, and with which funders, helps an organisation position itself in a way that is complementary rather than duplicative.
What you receive
- Readiness review against donor due diligence requirements
- Case for support document
- Tailored proposal and aligned budget preparation

Fundraising Support: common questions
Do you guarantee that we will receive funding?
No, and nobody legitimate can. Our role is to make sure your proposal, budget and documentation meet the standard funders assess, and to target donors whose priorities genuinely fit your work.
Can you help a very small organisation?
Yes, provided you have genuine programme delivery to document. Smaller organisations often benefit most from help turning completed work into evidence a funder can assess.
Do you write the proposal or do we?
Usually we draft and you correct, or we work on your draft with you. Either way the final submission is yours and must reflect your work accurately.
